Where are we going?
We will be camping in the Badlands with excursions into the Black Hills.
Since we are camping, what gear do I need to bring?
Besides your own clothing and boots, the only gear that you are responsible for bringing is a sleeping bag. If you don’t have a sleeping bag, you can rent one from UNL. It will be cold at night; pack appropriately.

When will you be going?

How much does it cost?
The Newman Institute partly covers the trip. We do ask students to make a contribution of $150 towards the cost of the trip. $50 of this is reservation deposit due before October 1, 2024. The remaining $100 is due before October 15, 2024. Payments can be made online via link once your application is approved, or by cash/check to the Newman Institute, 320 N. 16th St., Lincoln, NE 68508.
Applications
Due to the limited number of spots and the nature of some of the activities involved on the trip, applications are limited and reviewed. Your spot is not considered fully reserved until you have received an approval of your application and the Institute has received your reservation deposit.
[Update 10/3/24] At this time, you may apply for a spot on the wait-list but we can no longer guarantee a spot on the trip.
