About the Institute

Founded in 2016 under the patronage of St. John Henry Cardinal Newman, the Newman Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture is an apostolate of the Diocese of Lincoln serving the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the larger culture in partnership with the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center and St. Gregory the Great Seminary.

Our Mission

The mission of the Newman Institute for Catholic Thought & Culture is to bring the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the larger culture, especially the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the diocese of Lincoln.

I have so many good memories from the classes, and I still recite the Shakespeare sonnets I memorized. I learned so much, particularly about human nature…the discussions were amazing!
