For-Credit Courses
These 3-credit classes have no prerequisites and are designed to be taken in any order. Tuition is $650 per course ($325 to audit) and is due by the first class meeting.
Credit Transfer: Accredited through St. Gregory the Great Seminary, these courses may be transferred to other undergraduate institutions. For UNL students, a course equivalency has been established for elective credit. With advisor approval, they may also meet ACE (often ACE 5 or 8) and other requirements. Upon completion of the course, students will need to request a credit transfer from St. Gregory the Great Seminary.
HUM 251: Love & Friendship

Course Description: Aristotle defines the human person as a social animal. In this course, students are invited to reflect on perennial questions regarding our social bonds, especially in love and friendship, through reading core works in and studying the methods of history, literature, philosophy, theology, and the other arts. No prerequisites.

Certificate in Catholic Thought: This course satisfies 3 of the 6 elective credit hours necessary to complete our Certificate in Catholic Thought.
HUM 262: The Catholic Imagination
Meeting: Mon & Wed, 9:00 - 10:15am, UNL Newman Center, Room 222

Course Description: This course explores the impact of the Catholic imagination upon the Humanities. With comparison to pre- and post- Christian works of art, literature, history, and philosophy, we explore how Catholic though and culture affects themes and modes of expression in the Humanities. No prerequisites.
